hi quickcrop – just a quick question – we got the 6 foot long vegetable trug for our parents last year and the fleece has ripped and is disintegrating – i am wondering – if it disintegrates – do we have to replace the fleece (we would have to remove all the soil mix to do this!) or will the veg trug hold all the soil in?
(i am just hoping we do not have to do the first option!)

      Hi Niamh
Sorry for the late reply, we have a new blog page and I’m just learning how to work it.
I’m sorry to hear the fleece liner is disintegrating and will take that up with the manufacturer. Is this around the top or can you see it ripping through the slats of the trug?
I look forward to hearing from you

      best regards

    Hi Andrew,
the reason for birds pulling up onions seems to be the worms that like to hang out among their roots according to C.Dowding.

      Hi Reika
Thank you for your comment. That is very interesting, I would hold anything C.Dowding says in high regard so I guess that must be the answer. I was referring to new planted onion sets which wouldn’t have rooted yet but perhaps the birds know something we don’t. Thank you again for getting in touch.
      Andrew
