Large Trough Planter For Growing Vegetables
We recommend the 'Plasticcotta' vegetable planter for growing a broad range of vegetable crops. The planter is 39cm deep (15 1/2 inches) deep so can handle deep root crops. At 1m long this large trough planter can be used for anything from tomatoes and aubergines to peas and beans.
These long trough planters look smart in their grey anthracite finish and are a attractive looking addition to your growing space.
Planters are best filled with a fine gravel in the base covered by a good peat free multipurpose compost. We recommend using a further organic fertilizer like GroChar soil improved mixed with Seamungus seaweed and poultry manure for fantastic results. Container growing is intensive and you are asking a lot from your soil or compost, make sure it's well fed and you'll won't be dissapointed with your crops. The most common reason for poor crops in container growing is low nutrient levels. Vegetables are very hungry plants and need to be pampered to give you the return you expect.
The Italian made 'Plasticotta' planters are made from a very hardwearing thermoplastic UV-stabalised resin. It is light yet tough and is particularly resistant to long exposure to the sun. They are also frost resistant making it one of the longest lasting plant containers on the market.
