Description
Harvest your own saffron with Crocus Sativus, which is also known as Saffron Crocus! This variety flowers in late autumn/early winter producing a beautiful purple flower in a traditional crocus shape with three long stigmas growing from the centre which can be harvested (using a tweezers!) and stored in an airtight container.
In the first year each bulb produces 1 flower but they multiply after that.
Plant in late summer or early autumn. Does best in full sun in well drained soil.
