Raised Bed Table - Vegetable Planter Kits

The Raised Bed Vegi-table is the sturdiest raised height vegetable bed on the market. This kit comprises of a very heavy duty slot together bed made from 32mm thick boards. The bed sits an a chunky base with exceptionally strong legs and support braces. These raised bed tables are perfect for growing your own fruit and vegetables on a patio or in a back yard where space is limited. The Vegi table is essentially a table shaped raised garden bed for growing your own fruit and vegetables. The table shape not only looks great in any garden or polytunnel, it is also wheelchair accessible.

The extra height of this vegetable planter makes it easier to work on. Wheelchair users, the elderly or those with a bad back can sit by the bed and tend their plants comfortably without having to bend down. Less bending down seems to be a recurring theme here at Quickcrop but we all know what it's like when we have loads of weeding or hoe-ing to do.

The internal dimensions of the bed are 1.8m by 0.9m with a height of .78m off the ground. Internal dimensions (growing space) are 1.65m by .75m wide x 28cm deep. This bed is suitable for wheelchair users and provides an easy to access, safe working environment. Assembling this raised table planter is quite easy to do and the kit comes with full instructions and all the necessary fixings and screws included.

Timber is pressure treated with a safe wood preservative to last over 15 years. N.B: The bed in the photo has been treated with a cedar coloured protective stain. Beds are supplied treated but in a natural wood finish, allowing them to suit any garden decor. The treatment we use is certified as safe to use with organic food crops by the Soil Association.

Once constructed, fill with a vegetable soil mix or compost of your choice. We recommend using compost in the table planter as some vegetable soils can be very heavy when wet and may in some instances cause the base of the planter to warp or bow. Click here for more info on raised beds.

The Vegi Table Planter Bed is shipped out in 2 flatpacks. We aim to keep our delivery charges as low as possible and only charge 3.95 per order for delivery. This charge is the only delivery charge for our customers regardless of the size of the order.

Delivery was first class. But like the other review i would have liked some pre bored or guide holes in the timber. It would be better if you listed tools you need to assemble it as there is a bit of work involved. When assembled its first class. Also on the directions saying togue side up instead of tongue side is not helpful.

Very good product and directions for assembly were easy enough to follow. It would be more beneficial if timber was pre bored as there are quite a few holes to be drilled and it requires a fair deal of accuracy .

Very quick delivery. Quite a long assembly process involving a lot of drilling. Have assembled them all but haven't sited them yet.

Nice but disappointed because couldn't fit my wheelchair underneath it,so have had to stand on slabs which doesn't look the best.

I agree with Mike. A good strong product for the money. Was pleased after seeing so much cheap rubbish around. Good.

We like the Vegitable so much I'll be ordering a third today. We're getting pretty good at assembling them, although I do long for pre-drilled holes. That would probably cause a serious price increase, however. I've grown carrots, beets, chard, tons of greens, flowers and a bumper crop of parsley this summer. Neither slugs nor my lettuce-munching dog have been able to scale Mount Vegitable, which has made food and flower growing much simpler for us. We rent. I got a couple of allotment beds which I won't mind leaving behind when/if we move, but it's a comfort to know we can take the (semi-portable) Vegitables with us. The Vegitable is incredibly sturdy and looks very nice. Quick Crop's beds (and some cheap-o small hanging plant buckets from a local discount store) have transformed our formerly boring and sterile housing estate back garden into a fruitful and lovely place. Cautionary Tale: I tried to cheap it out with a raised planter from a (nameless) German big box store, fo

A very substantial kit for the money. I have seen similar beds not the same quality as this one for more money. Happy with my purchase.

Fantastic product and getting great pleasure from it. Not simple to put together but once you are not pushed for time it's fine. Have rated 4 star as unsure how long it will last, otherwise 5 star.

This is as very nice, substantial bed which went together fairly easily although I had expected it to have pilot holes for the screws. The lack of these means you need to take a bit more care in lining things up and you'll want a good powerfull screw driver. But once built it is first rate. And again, absolutely brilliant service and delivery

Good quality robust beds which are very easily maintained.

Takes a little more effort to put together than the vegtrug (which I bought also) and not quite as pretty but a very solid structure once build which I suspect will long outlast the trug. Excellent value for money and prompt delivery as usual. Very good value for such a sturdy kit, rollon the summer!

Hi is this suitable for small childrens use? 4/5 year olds?
Answered by Andrew
on February 08th, 2017
Hi Michelle. Yes it is. The top of the Vegi Table is 780mm off the ground which is about the height of a standard kitchen table so should be perfect for them. The Vegtrugs are a little higher so might not work out as well.

Hi Andrew, Silly question but how many drainage holes do I need in the veg-table and what size approx. Thanks. Mario
Answered by Andrew
on January 24th, 2017
Hi Mario. You can use the vegitable raised bed without drainage holes but if it is in a wet site you can drill 12 holes in the bottom with a 10mm bit. If you are drilling holes it s a good idea to use a semi permeable lining material like Mypex.

Is it possible to get a cover for the vegi table 1.8m L X 0.9m W X 78m high model
Answered by Andrew
on August 30th, 2016
Hi Paul. The Vegi table doesn't come with covers and frames made to measure but the Vegtrug range has a full list of covers and frames. If you prefer the Vegi Table over the Vegtrug you can build your own frame and cover using our Mini Polytunnel range. You will find them under Raised Beds

Do I need to buy a liner for this raised bed? If so, do you sell one?
Answered by Andrew
on March 30th, 2016
Thank you for your question Anne. We sell liners for all of the raised beds. Just put the word Liner in the search bar and it will pull up what you need. You only really need a liner if the beds are going on a concrete base etc. There is no need if the beds are going in the garden.

Hi Philip. I'm delighted you are pleased with your purchase. Yes, a heavy duty plastic would be ideal wit drainage holes as you suggest.

Hi Malcolm. The legs of the Vegi-Table are 45 cm long.

Should you put felt at the bottom of this planter and if so do I need to drill holes in the planter
Answered by Andrew
on February 13th, 2015
Hi Bina A piece of landscape fabric can be used in the bottom of the planter but as there are small gaps between the base boards you will not need to drill holes in the unit.
