Handmade Tripod Ladder

In a nutshell....

This ladder is the new product of the year! An incredibly versatile, safe, compact and great looking tripod ladder. This ladder folds to an unobtrusive 'A' frame for easy storage yet looks good enough to be left out as a beautiful piece of furniture. See below why we like it so much!

Finish

Ladder dimensions: Height 130cm, Ist Step 33cm, 2nd Step 56cm. The timber used is poplar with a mahogany or limed finish.

Obviously stability is very important and with it's tripod design this three legged ladder feels exceptionally safe and secure. What I particularly like is how comfortable the standing position is as you can stand with one foot on each 'A' frame making you feel much more 'planted' than a standard step ladder.

We have one of these around the house and have been genuinely amazed that there isn't a similar product on the market. Rather than write an essay on the design here's the '1,2,3' on why I like it so much:

It is very stable
As we've said, the standing position is particularly stable giving a very comfortable and safe stance. Your feet can be splayed on the A frame supports giving a much safer working position than having your feet together on a normal ladder. If you're standing on the ground and want to feel stable you place your feet apart, now you can do the same on a ladder.

It allows you to face the action
If you're using a ladder in the home chances are you are hanging a curtain or a picture, painting or dusting a wall or ceiling, pruning a hedge or removing an item from a shelf or out of reach cupboard. A standard step ladder positions you sideways meaning you have to twist to attend to the task at hand. The tripod ladder is unique as it opens flat and can be fitted against a wall or hedge leaving you facing forward. A forward facing position with legs apart makes a huge difference to your comfort and safety and allows you to complete the task with confidence.

It looks beautiful
I have a poor relationship with my old aluminium ladder and hate taking its rattly frame out from under the stairs when I need it. The hand built tripod ladder is different as it is beautiful piece of furniture in its own right can be left on display in your home. Ours finds itself being used as a drying rack, clothes horse or, on occasion, as a handy wigwam for the kids. You will wonder how you survived without it!

The new tripod ladder it is available now exclusively at Quickcrop.

What are the actual measurements for the step? In the picture they look very narrow. Please oblige.

Hi Marilyn. I am afraid we are currently not able to stock the tripod ladder. The treads taper as you climb but you placer a foot on each side so although the top tread is narrow it easily accommodates your foot and provides a very stable work area.

Hi 1 What type of wood is used to make the ladder? 2 How long is it guaranteed for?

Hi John. The wood used in the ladder is poplar. The manufacturer doesn't include a guarantee but this is more because it is a small batch handmade product rather than any reflection on quality. I will talk to them about providing same.

Hi Jenny. Sorry, I have added the basic dimensions to the description. The height is 130cm with the 1st step being 33cm and the second is 33cm. I will measure the stock in the warehouse and add more details tomorrow.

How would height, reach etc. on the upper step compare with a typical kitchen stool/steps?
Answered by Andrew

Hi Peter. I will also add this to description on site but the height of the top rung is 56cm and the lower one is 33. I guess it is comparable in height to standing on a stool but much more stable.
