Hi, how are the uprights secured to the ground please? Is it practical to move it each season and to use it on differently sized beds?
Answered by Niall

Hi Jack The easiest way is to just stick the posts about 2/3 inches in to the soil and they won't move in the wind. They are very easily moved from bed to bed Niall Quickcrop

For a larger structure (say 16 by 24ft) would you need a roof and internal down-poles. How do you suggest structuring it I can’t quite make out from the picture.
Answered by Niall
on June 28th, 2019
Hi Phill For a structure of that size you would be better looking at our Heavy Duty Fruit cages on the website which have centre down poles etc. These units are for smaller scale fruit covering https://www.quickcrop.ie/fruit-cages Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi Michael I am afraid not. We only supply them in the lengths on the website but as you say they can be cut quite easily. It is just not a service we offer at present Niall Quickcrop

Asked By Rosemary
on July 12th, 2018
Hello Could you explain the best way to attach the poles into the corners of the wooden raised beds, please? I don't see anything for sale to do that job. I imagine just pushing the poles into the soil would not be strong enough? Sorry if the question has already been answered elsewhere. Thank you very much.
Answered by Andrew
on July 13th, 2018
Hi Rosemary. Yes, the rods are designed to be pushed into the soil on the raised beds. If you would prefer to secure them to the timber you could source a bracket for fixing a pipe to a wall in any builders suppliers or DIY store. We will also look at stocking these on the site. I hope this helps. Andrew

Asked By Pete Stott
on June 16th, 2018
Hi Do you have to be creative in cutting netting to fit the frames or can the netting be purchased already cut? In the photos it all looks very neat! Pete
Answered by Andrew
on June 18th, 2018
Hi Pete. You will have to be creative! The nets are not tailored to fit. For smaller frames cover the whole frame and fold the ends and secure with pegs. For walk in fruit cages it is best to do the sides first and then attach the roof net. The roof overlaps the sides by 8 inches or so an can be attached with small cable ties. I hope this helps Andrew
Asked By Sally-Ann Garrett
on May 28th, 2018
How would you fix netting to your fruit cage frames? I want to make a structure to fit over various fruit bushes that are in a raised bed, 18" high. The frame will need to be 5m X 1.2 m X 190h. Or 2.7m wide if I want to be able to walk inside to pick the berries. There is not enough room for a cage with a door, so I was thinking to make one end like a flap that I could lift up, or drop down to pick, and fix back in place to protect the fruit. What netting do you have that allows bees to enter, but keeps out birds?
Answered by Andrew
on May 31st, 2018
Hi Sally Anne. Our bird netting will allow bees to enter but if you are concerned n that regard just leave the net off when the fruit flowers are being pollinated. Bear in mind you only need the net when the fruit is ripening. Yes, we can supply a cage to fit your dimensions. The net is attached by clips that easily pop on and off and by ground pegs like tent pegs along the base. I hope this helps. Andrew

Hello again I sent another question about the door as I now notice on your website you are selling components for a door. Not sure if this is new or if I missed this previously. I would therefore like to know what components I would need for a 2.5m by 5m fruit cage including a door. Also what netting would I use because I cannot find any on your website. Thanks
Answered by Andrew
on January 24th, 2017
Hi Joe. I am afraid we don't have 8ft lengths you would need in stock and don't think we will be getting them in again. We have an issue sending the longer poles mail order so will be promoting the system for lower growing crops where it is excellent solution. I am sorry that we can't supply the fruit cage you require on this occasion.

Hi Joe. I am afraid not in this range at the moment however we may be adding to the range over the next few weeks and there is a door option available.

on August 11th, 2016
Are there base fixings for this product or do you drive direct into the ground?
Answered by Andrew
on August 15th, 2016
Hi Maurice You an either make the frame up a box section with rails along the base as well as the top (I would recommend this for a smaller, moveable cloche structure) or drive the rods straight in to the ground for taller structures.
