A Large Garlic - Great For Cooking.

Provence Wight garlic (allium sativum) is a great softneck variety. Originating in the Drome valleys of northern Provence this variety produces large white generous sized bulbs which can sometimes reach the size of Elephant garlic. The large fat cloves are perfect for mediterranean style dishes and keep well if stored properly. Can also be planted in the Spring time but bulb size will be substantially smaller.

Heavy watering in the 3 months leading up to harvest is recommended.

You can buy Provence Wight Garlic in sets of one, two, three bulbs and 1kg (13 bulbs). Please select the required amount using the 'No of Bulbs' Tab above the 'Add To Cart' Button.

I planted Provence Wight Garlic last year before the first frosts and it produced a remarkable crop. I harvested it in late july and dried on my shed roof in the sun. It is now hanging in an airy shed and storing well.

Finally got around to finishing off the last of this tasty garlic. Thankfully it thrived in our cold winter and I had a lot of it to store and use over the holidays. A superb garlic that I hope you will be stocking this year. The bulbs were impeccable.

Hi Eoin The varieties on the website are what we will be stocking this season. We won't have Provence this season. Messidrome is the one most like it and these actually grow better in our climate Niall Quickcrop

Would this garlic be hardy enough for the far north of scotland ,please

on July 24th, 2020
Hi Susan It grows very well in the North of Ireland so i would imagine it will work well for you in the North of Scotland. You might just need to be sure to get it in the ground as soon as it is available in late September / early October so it has a longer time in the ground Niall Quickcrop

Can this garlic grow in Louisiana and what my th do I plant it
Answered by Andrew
on August 06th, 2015
Hi Patricia. I'm afraid we don't currently ship to Louisiana, there are strict restrictions on sending items lie garlic into the States. Galrlic should be planted in the Fall and left in the ground over winter as it needs a period of cold to cause the single clove to produce a bulb.
