Brought by 6ft planks to construct some more beds and I was most impressed with the quality. All planks were quite straight and more than twice the thickness of the kits I brought from another supplier a few years back. They will likely outlast me! Delivery was very speedy to.

to get a 13ft long bed I am joining a 3 + 4 + 6 foot boards, how do you recommend that I join them?

Hi Dave Yes, to get a 13ft bed you will need to join a 3, 4 and 6 ft board. Joining boards is difficult with the lighter gauge allotment style beds. I would recommend purchasing separate beds and putting one beside the other. You are probably better off using 2 x 6ft beds and making a 12 foot bed value wise. I hope this helps Andrew

will the 9" board be fine for growing all root crops carrots rhubarb turnip maybe potatoes ect.

To be honest Archibald i would recommend the 14inch beds for root crops and potatoes. Everything else will grow fine in a 9 inch bed except root crops and potatoes. Rhubarb and Turnip will be fine in a 9 inch bed

What is the wood and how is it treated. Does it meet organic standards
Answered by Andrew

Hi Judy. The wood is pressure treated with Tanalith E which is a copper based preservative. The treatment is certified safe for food crop but I would need to check if it meets organic guidelines, as far as I know it does.
