Hi, I'd like to build a 9" high 12ftx2ft raised bed with one of the long sides against a wall. I can see I can get a kit for 12ftx2 ft but can't see 2ft planks for sale individually and I don't think I need one of the longer sides since I'm attaching directly to a brick wall. Is it possible to get 2 foot long 9" high planks outside of a kit?

Hi Margaret It is of course. They are very straightforward and it is a one person job. The instructions are on the product page on the website so worth a look through and we have a video on our Youtube channel also to look at Niall Quickcrop

Are these raised bed boards treated.
Answered by Niall
on November 11th, 2019
Hi Yvonne They are treated to make the boards last a lot longer in our climate. That said they are treated with a substance that is certified by the soil association as perfectly fine to use when growing your own food. So all good for home grown food Niall Quickcrop

I'm thinking of building a raised bed some 30' x 10' x 21" or 27" as I wish to build a base for a raised garden railway. In view of its size, I was wondering if you supplied posts that I can put into the ground, perhaps 3' to 4' long? Hope you can help.

Hi John I don't think that will be an issue. If you want to phone the office and ask for me i will see what we can sort out for you Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hello, I'm looking to build a 5m x 1m,21 inches high raised bed.please can you advise of the components to use? It will be going in my current vegetable patch, will I need to line it with cardboard? Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Hi Kathlyn. It depends on whether you want the complete unit including the corner posts to be included in the 5m and the 1m dimensions or if that is the dimension you want inside the beds. It might be best to call us in the office to discuss.

Do I need a liner for a deep (21") raised bed ? Also how are the long pieces attached - do you need 2 fixing brackets per post? I was planning 7 raised beds but think my cost is over £1000. - do you offer any bulk discounts? Thank you

Hi Clare. Thank you for your question. You will not need a liner for the 21 inch raised beds unless they are going on a hard surface. You will need 2 brackets per post, the planks are attached by slotting them into the brackets and fixing with screws. It will be sligtly cheaper to buy the 21 inch high raised bed kits rather than the separate component parts. https://www.quickcrop.co.uk/product/new-premier-21inch-high-raised-bed-kit

I am looking to construct a U shaped raised bed roughly 16ft x 20ft to fit within an existing fruit cage. Is it possible to screw 2 boards to 1 post in a line or are the brackets suitable only for constructing squares/rectangles ? Would you recommend using a cross piece at each post for strength rather than have a 20ft long bed ?
Answered by Andrew
on February 20th, 2017
Hi Jason. Firstly on the cross piece. I would recommend one linking board every 6 to 8 feet just to stop the soil from pushing the bed out over time. You can however do this underneath the soil and use just a 9 inch bracket and board. You don't need to go to the full height of the bed. you can of course go straight using the corner posts and brackets. You just use a right angled bracket on each side of a post and keep going straight. Just be careful to allow enough in your measurements for the posts as they are wide enough posts.
