In a nutshell....

Timber raised pond kits to create a water feature centrepiece for your outdoor garden. These ponds are raised above the ground to eliminate the need for digging a hole, they can also be placed on any surface. Comes with a pond liner. Pond size: 4ft x 4ft Comes with 16oz Rubber Mallet for assembly.

This product is currently out of stock

Wooden Garden Ponds

Our raised ponds are made from extra thick timber and are easy to assemble. They come with all required fittings and instructions. A raised pond is great for complementing a raised vegetable garden or for use as a stand alone koi and other fish pond, water plant garden or as a timber water structure for the garden.

The pond has a wide border edge around the top that is perfect for sitting on or putting pots and pond additions onto. As stated above the timber kit comes with the pond liner included.
The timber used is extra thick 4.5cm (1.75in) timber boards that slot together with a tongue and groove system incorporating a 'Lock Cut' that make them quite difficult to take apart. The boards have a stylish ridged face on the outside.

This product is supplied in kit form comprising the raised pond assembly, edging boards and PVC liner. A top mounted planter to house a water feature or foliage is available separately. A rubber mallet is recommended for assembly or a standard hammer with an old piece of wood to help put the corners together.

With continued exposure to water some timber products may be susceptible to damage. We recommend that the top boards are protected with Restol, a wood oil preservative. Wood oil is a very fine natural oil which is able to penetrate the timber, nourishing and protecting it from the inside out. The fact that is derived from natural oils makes it non-toxic and significantly less harmful to organic and living materials.

Dimensions:
4ft x 4ft x 16in high
Timber used is 4.5cm (1.75in) thick
Top Border is 14cm wide (5.5in). The tops are included as standard with each pond.

Internal pond dimensions: 38in (965mm) x 38in (965mm)

Capacity in gallons and litres inc approx (conservative estimate) number of fish:
16 inches (42 cm) high = 85 Gallons (387 Litres) Not recommended for fish.
22 inches high (56cm) = 113 Gallons (516 Litres) Not recommended for fish.
26.5 inches high (67cm) = 135 Gallons (617 Litres) = 4 x 2inch goldfish.
32 inches high (81cm) = 164 Gallons (746 Litres) = 6 x 2 inch goldfish.
37.5 inches high (95cm) = 192 Gallons (876 Litres) = 8 x 2 inch goldfish.
44 inches high (110cm) = 223 Gallons (1014 Litres) = 10 x 2 inch goldfish.

Hi, can this pond be purchased with a depth of 22”? If so can you advise the price & how to purchase, as there are no options to select a depth on the website, but in the description it mentions different depths available. Thanks

If you look at the Premium ponds the height options are available. We are presently out of stock of the standard ponds hence the height selection won't work. Sorry about that Niall Quickcrop

Can I ask why you don’t recommend the shallower ponds for fish? They appear to be a decent size.

Hi Emma They are fine for a few goldfish however fish that are going to grow larger need a good deep space to grow in Niall Quickcrop

Have you any plans on introducing a raised pond with a viewing window on one side or can one of your existing ponds be adapted.
Answered by Niall
on November 25th, 2019
Hi John It is tricky to do this so it is not something we will be offering as the glass would need to be about 3/4 inches thick. That said we have had a number of our customers adapt our ponds to take a glass window and they seemed to work very well Niall Quickcrop

yes please we are interested in the Raised Pond With Liner - 4ft x 4ft Pond Height: 26.5 Inches £279.00 1
Answered by Niall
on October 29th, 2019
Hi Allison Sorry for taking a bit of time to come back to you on this. I just needed to get a price from the manufacturer as they are made to measure. A box welded liner for this size pond is 159. However you can take 30 off for the price of the liner we normally supply so 129 more than the price of the pond quoted for the pond and a box liner. I hope this makes sense Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Allison

Are the liners made to measure the size of the pond you buy or do you have to cut to fit ewhen received?
Answered by Andrew
on October 28th, 2019
Hi Alison. The standard liner need to be folded to for the pond. We also supply box welded liners to exactly fit the pond for any size but due to the work involved in making them they are more expensive. Please let me know if you are interested in a tailored liner and I will price it for you.

Hi, I'm interested in the 4ft x 4ft, but with a toddler I'm a little nervous about it. Is there a cover? If not, how would you suggest making it 'child safe'?
Answered by Andrew
on May 31st, 2019
Hi Alistair I am afraid we don't currently sell a cover specifically for this pond but we can easily provide you with the components to make one. I would suggest a simple 2x2 timber frame with heavy duty bird net stapled to it. We also have aluminium and steel poles for crop cages and could make something up from these. Please feel free to call me on 01788 298 795 or email me at andrew@quickcrop.ie and we can figure something out.

Hi Jane Now theres a question. Not really i suppose is the answer however if you were to do this and the liner got a nick when putting it in you would have a lot of water to deal with. Once in place i am sure it will function just as it would in the garden Niall Quickcrop

Hi, recently purchased this from you and one of the tops is suffering from sun damage with large cracks appearing. Would teak oil be ok to use and would it be safe for the fish?
Answered by Niall
on August 08th, 2018
Hi Julie Teak oil will be fine however i would recommend taking the tops off and applying the oil. Then let them dry out before putting them back on. You could also use Linseed Oil or Repsol wood preserve to do the same thing Regards Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Pamela
on July 18th, 2018
Should I place pond on bricks or stones , I am concerned about the wood rotting, and how to preserve the wood. I am in process of filling a large pond in to make it easier for me when I get this one . Pamela
Answered by Niall
on July 19th, 2018
Hi Pamela To be honest once it goes on a flat surface putting it on stones or brick will not matter to much but it would be advisable to put down either some old carpet or sand to make sure the liner doesn't get punctured. The wood is already treated so should be fine however it might be an idea to get some restol to make sure the tops don't get sun baked Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi Charlotte The Laguna 3,000 would be your best bet Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Sheri
on June 02nd, 2018
Hi. I’m considering purchasing this but I was wondering whether you could recommend which pumps would be best as I would also be purchasing the planter with the waterfall cascade. Would it be best to purchase the pump you state for the waterfall and then a bigger pump for the main pond as I would like a few fish too.
Answered by Andrew
on June 05th, 2018
Hi Sheri The Laguna powerclear 3500 or 7000 pump will be fine for a pond this size including powering the waterfall and keeping the water clean for fish. Bear in mind a pond this size will need to be at least 26.5 inches high to keep fish. Please see the numbers of fish recommended for the 26.5 pond and over: 26.5 inches high (67cm) = 135 Gallons (617 Litres) = 4 x 2inch goldfish. 32 inches high (81cm) = 164 Gallons (746 Litres) = 6 x 2 inch goldfish. 37.5 inches high (95cm) = 192 Gallons (876 Litres) = 8 x 2 inch goldfish. 44 inches high (110cm) = 223 Gallons (1014 Litres) = 10 x 2 inch goldfish. I hope this helps Andrew

Hi Scott. I would recommend the Laguna 3500 pump. As regards goldfish I would suggest no more than 4 x 2 inch goldfish.
Asked By Shell

Hi is a solar pump ok for your ponds?
Answered by Andrew
on May 08th, 2018
Hi Shell It will depend on the capacity of the pump (how many litres per hour it will pump) and the size of the pond you are interested in. Also, if you intend to put fish in the pond it will not be sufficient. Let me know the answers to above and I can be more accurate. Andrew

I have one of your ponds and am pleased with it. I have a solar fountain and in the wind it gets the top of the wood wet. what do you recommend to seal the wood with in this situation
Answered by Niall
on April 23rd, 2018
Hi Aidan As the wood top is not in contact with the pond you could use a varnish if you like or a general wood preserve. There shouldn't be any need to be to fussy with what you use once it looks well. Regards Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Alex Cmpbell

Hi, very interested in your products and this might sound silly question with an obvious answer. Is there a hole to allow for overflow. ie during rain?
Answered by Niall
on April 06th, 2018
Hi Alex Not a stupid question at all. There is no hole for this however some people cut a small notch in the top of one of the boards and then create a small gap in the liner before putting the finishing top on. If you don't do this it is not a major issue as the wind tends to blow excess water over the edge in time. Regards Niall Quickcrop

Asked By Mike Harris

This is a project for the Spring.I'm thinking of your 6x4 Pond. Do the figures for number of fish per depth assume a filtered pond? What do you think is the best filter for a dozen goldfish, and at what position would you place the intake pump/filter on the 6x4.I have been looking at 'underwater', pressurised, and gravity fed systems. I am a pensioner have kept tropical fish and realise how 'messy' filtration can be. Would a 'big' filter need less cleaning? what do you recommend? Thanks Mike Harris
Answered by Andrew
on December 11th, 2017
Hi Mike. Yes, the figures assume a filtered pond. For a relatively small 6x4 pond you can use a good all in one system like the Laguna Powerclear 7000 which has a 2700 litre per hour flow rate. I like the laguna as it is a modular system which is easy to take apart and clean. I include a link to to the product in question which I hope is helpful: https://www.quickcrop.co.uk/product/laguna-powerclear-multi-7000-all-in-one-pond-pump

Hi Catherine. You can of course add aquatic soil or pebbles however it would be advisable to do this before you add the water to the pond and obviously be very careful when adding them in so that you don't rip the liner.
