Hi Cari
You would be best to put down either a layer of cardboard on top of the gravel or sand to stop any of the stones ripping the liner with the weight of soil in the pond

Answered by Niall
on April 14th, 2020
Hi Rod
The deepest pond we do in the Premium range which is all we have available at the moment is 44 inches high. In relation to leveling it they really need to go on to a level surface as otherwise the weight will be to one side which is not adviseable

Hi Jo. Yes, you can dig in one side of the pond if your garden is on a slope. I would also dig out the slope inside the pond so the liner goes in square. I hope this is what you mean? Andrew

Hi,
I'm planning on digging down a bit bellow the raised pond to make it deeper than the 44 inch version I am looking at, 44 height being the limit to blend in with existing walls etc. Would it be possible to have a liner cut to the size once I've figured out the total depth of 44inch + whatever I can dig down to?
Cheers

Hi Nathan
Thats no problem. There would be an extra charge for the deeper liner but there is no issue in facilitating giving you a larger one to fit a deeper pond. Just give us a call in the office when you know how deep you need and we can get that sorted for you

How easy is it to fit a pump/filtration unit
Answered by Andrew
on January 22nd, 2019
Hi Allan.
There are a number of options for pump and filter depending on whether you wish to put fish in your pond and what type of fish you would like to keep. If you aren't stocking the pond a simple all in one pump and filter can be used like the Laguna 750. All you need is a power supply going in to the pond. If you are keeping fish you are better off with a separate pump and filter. The pump will sit on the bottom of the pond and feed an external pressure or gravity filter which feeds back into the pond. The external filter can feed back via a pipe or a cascade which keeps the water circulating. If you need more information please feel free to call us in the office on 01788 298795.
I hope this helps.

Good morning, can you tell me what the ‘ridged’ boards actually look like, are they a bit like decking? Also, would this pond match the ordinary raised beds I already have in the garden? Many thanks.r
Answered by Niall
on January 16th, 2019
Hi Robert
The boards of the pond are flat on the outside when assembled so they will match up with our raised beds very well. They are not grooved on the outside like decking. If you look at the Video on the website for ponds you will get a better idea what we are talking about.

Hi Dean
I am afraid Koi need a lot of space so a pond of this size would really only take 3 to 4 large Koi.

What do you suggest using to create planting shelves for marginal plants?
Answered by Andrew
on June 05th, 2018
Hi Jo
I would be inclined to use blocks on the base of the pond for marginal plants or use a floating planter. We are working on shelving designs in our ponds but they do make the liner more difficult to install. If you don't want blocks to take up too much room you could build and underwater 'bench' using bricks and a concrete paving slab as a top. I hope this helps.

What is a loose pond liner please
Answered by Niall
on February 26th, 2018
Morning Vince
It is a liner that is not preformed to fit the exact pond size so it is a loose and just folds out to fit the pond. It is a good thick liner that you place inside the pond once built. Tack it to the top boards and then fit the finishing top. Once you fill the pond with water it then has the ability to form to the shape of the pond
I hope this explains a bit better although i must admit it is hard enough to explain.

Hi Damon. Unfortunately the widest liner we currently stock is 4m so won't be large enough for your plan with sump (you will need min 5 meters with a little more for error). I am checking now if we can get larger liners and will be back to you with more info.

Hi Sarah. We can make ponds to different depths, the tallest we currently do is 44 inches which 4 inches off 4ft so it would be deep enough for coy but you would need to check how many fish you can keep in the 2800 litres the pond holds.
