This pack includes our 6ft by 3ft bed and gives you a generous amount of room to grow some fresh salad and 2 other very easy crops. We're keeping it simple here for first timers but still giving you something you can have great fun with.

What do I get for €100.00?

  1. 1 x Quickcrop 6ft by 3ft by 9 high timber raised bed.
  2. 5 x peat free compost bale, the correct amount for the bed.
  3. 1 x 'Seamungus' seaweed and poultry manure plant feed mix.
  4. 4 x Seed packs including: Oriental salad, Beetroot, spring onion and rainbow chard.
  5. Full planting and care instructions.

We are including a mix of oriental salad seeds in this easy starter kit. Orientals are ‘cut and come again’ meaning the leaves you harvest from the plant will regrow. This can keep you in salad for months before you need to re-plant. Many varieties are from the mustard family and bring some lovely peppery flavours to your salad bowl. The vegetables are also very easy and come with full growing instructions.

Here’s what we've got:

Mizuna: Grows like mad. A mild flavour perfect for providing the background bulk to your salad.

Rocket: We all know what that is, we use cultivated rather than wild rocket as it’s less likely to bolt. It has a more rounded leaf but the same great taste.

Osaka: A beautiful purple colour quite mild as baby leaf but increasing in strength if you let
the leaves mature.

Tatsoi: Like pak choi but produces a glossy deep green rosette of leaves. Wonderfully crunchy
and great in salads, oriental soups and stir fries.

Mustard Ruby Streaks and Golden Frills: For me this is the best salad leaf you can grow hands
down. It has good peppery flavours without being overpowering and has a gorgeous serrated
leaf that literally springs off the plate. Ruby streaks, as the name suggests is deep red, golden
frills a vigourous bright springtime green.

Beetroot: Roasted beetroot is one of the tastiest treats as well as being packed with goodness. Beet leaves are also great in a salad giving you a very versatile crop. Many people are put of by pickled or boiled beets, don't be, roasted of raw it's a fabulous vegetable.

Spring onion: A very easy and satisfying introduction to growing. Sow them in clumps to harvest the freshest, crunchiest scallions you ever tasted.

Rainbow Chard: Can be used as a baby salad leaf or cooked like spinach. This plants keeps producing new glossy leaves as you pick them. The first thing I ever grew and something I'd never leave out of my planting plan.
