We bought this raised bed a couple of weeks ago. Was easy to put together (we are not DIY enthusiasts and it was straight forward!!!). Obviously once assembled it is heavy so make sure you build it where you want it! We used an electric screwdriver to put it together and this did mean that assembly took longer as there are no pre-drilled holes and the screwdriver ran down very quickly. This wasn't a problem but I'm just including this in case anyone needs to build one in a hurry. Good quality wood and screws. Pleased with it. Not filled it with soil yet...

This split-level raised bed is a lovely addition to the front of a raised pond I bought in January. Putting it together was vry easy. I've already filled it with topsoil and planted it up with spring flowers. Looks great - family and friends very impressed.

Hi! Is the timber suitable for a coat of paint? Or is that not recommended? Thanks!

Hi Medb Personally i wouldn't as the toxins from standard paints can find their way in to the soil and you don't want that. The wood is already treated so will last in our damp climate. That said if you are adamant that you want to paint to change the look. Just paint the outside of the bed and use a liner for the inside Niall Quickcrop

Hi, can the raised section of this planter be fitted to any corner of the base? Thinking of ordering 2, 1 for each corner and ideally would like them to mirror one another. Many thanks.

Hi Lee Yes. Once your bed is the same length then it can go on either side of the bed Niall Quickcrop

This might be a stupid question (sorry - novice gardener!) but could this be used for planting vegetables? Also - do you make custom sizes in the split level beds? Thanks!

Do you install/assemble? I'm doubtful of being able to assemble in my own.

Hi K. I am afraid we don't do installations but the kits are pretty easy to do. You may have a local handyman who could put the bed together in about half an hour?

Hi, can you tell me what the soil capacity of this bed is please?

Hi Michelle. The split Level beds take 990 litres of soil to fill.

What is on the base, or is there not one, please.

Hi Yvonne. The split level bed does not come with a base as this is not required. If the bed is to be placed on a hard surface I would recommend a liner to prevent small particles of soil escaping around the base. If placing the bed on grass or soil contact with the soil below the bed is a benefit. I hope this makes sense. Andrew
