Description
"Rakes are handy to knock out any lumps of compost and soil, to break them up when you want to create a nice fine tilth for seed sowing. A standard short pronged version will have more uses around the garden than a longer pronged rake. The copper ‘Perseus’ rake has an extra long ash handle which I like as it means less bending while raking. Often I use it in a horizontal motion, swinging lightly across the bed surface, as shallow as possible, to knock out the lumps and make it level for sowing and planting." - Charles Dowding
