Description
Allium Ambassador is a giant in your flower garden. Growing to over 1m (even up to 1.5m) in height with a bright purple spherical flower head. This perennial will last several years if taken care of properly. The bulb remains dormant in winter and starts growing again in spring. Perfect to grow in flower beds, urban gardens, gravel gardens or in containers. Alliums grow well alongside most plants. They require no pruning and are generally pest free.
Best planting time:
Ideally plant between September and December. The bulbs prefer a period of cold dormancy before they grow in spring. You can still plant them in spring but you will get a less spectacular bloom.
Planting conditions:
Alliums require full sun for optimal growth. They can grow in most soils as long as it is moist and well draining. If you have a clay based soil add some horticultural grit to help with drainage.
