Description
A very impressive tall grass with stiff and straight stems carrying fountains heads of reddish-brown tasselled flowers that mature to a silvery grey.
Goes well with:
Flowers - Anemone hybrids Andrea Atkinson (windflower), Sedum ‘Matrona’ (ice plant)
Grasses - Molinia caerulea ‘Moorhexe’ (purple moor grass)
Care of Miscanthus sinensis 'Kleine Fontäne’
If possible protect from heavy winter rain. Cut back hard to soil level in late winter before spring growth appears.
Wildlife benefits
Provides winter habitat for hibernating insects in it’s hollow stems and is a good source of nest building material for birds.
