Also known as Vial's Primrose or orchid primrose, this eye-catching herbaceous perennial is well suited to shady borders. The Lilac pink flowers are a rich source of pollen for bees, butterflies and moths, with a flowering period from June to July. These flowers emerge from a conical, bright red spike, providing an attractive dual-colour appearance.
Primula Vialii is a hardy plant that will benefit from a well-fed, well-drained soil. It grows well in both partial shade and full sun conditions. If in partial shade, ensure that the soil is moist. The plant grows to a height of 0.6m. Once the flowering period is over, the large clumps will need to be divided.
