Hi Niall Yes but better outdoors as they will thrive more and they actually get very large so will take up to much of your space in the tunnel Niall Quickcrop

I would like to grow these in containers. How large a container is best? Any other tips are welcome.

Hi Peter Blackcurrant plants can get quite big. Even though the roots are not huge the weight of the plant when in full fruit once it has gotten well established could topple your container. To be honest the bigger the container the better but certainly no smaller than 18 inches wide x 12 inches deep Niall Quickcrop

I would like to grow black currant ben sarek bushes in a raised bed 8ft x 4ft. How many can I plant in there?
Answered by Niall

Hi Barbara I wouldn't go much more than 3. One close to each end and one in the centre. They will get quite large within 3 years with a spread of about 6 feet before pruning so that would be the maximum for that space. They will look a bit sad space wise in year one but in year two you will see what i mean about the space Great cropers so you will have plenty in 3 bushes anyway. Regards Niall Quickcrop

I,be just bought a black currant Ben Sarek from you. What do I need to do to prepare it for planting? Can it go straight in the ground or should I pot it up first?

Hi Ann. If you have good soil then you can just put it directly in the ground. Blackcurrants are hardy plants and will grow well in most conditions
