Grow Your Own Cranberry Bush
Cranberry 'Pilgrim' produces juicy dark red berries with a tart flavour traditionally used for making cranberry sauce but also delicious in preserves or fruit pies.
Pilgrim cranberries need the same growing conditions as their wild counterparts. They grow in moorland and need a well drained acidic soil of between PH 4.0 and 5.5. Plant in Autumn or Spring. If your soil is alkaline cranberries can be grown very successfully in containers using and ericaceous compost.
Cranberries are high in Vitamin C, contain Vitamins A & B6, Magnesium, Iron and are a good source of dietary fibre.
