Description
Digging out weeds is very labour intensive and can cause aches and strains quite easily. A safe, organic alternative to manual weeding is flame weeding. This uses a flame torch to burn the top foliage of the weed. It is a tried and tested alternative to chemical intervention and a genuine labour saving gardening tool making it a welcome addition to any garden shed.
The Sheen Flamegun range has been manufactured in Britain since 1952 to an excellent standard with very little modifications to its original design. It is fuelled by paraffin, also known as kerosene, and requires minimal maintenance. Complete with a one gallon fuel tank it has an integral pump and pressure gauge for greater efficiency.
It can be used on beds and borders and is perfect for removing fungal growth and moss from patio and paving.
Once the Flamegun is primed and started up simply pass the torch flame across the plant leaves until they are heated up, this dries out and destroys the plants cell structure which will prevent any further movement of sap. The plant will die back and after a secondary blast will disintegrate into a nutrient rich potash, replenishing and feeding the soil.

Usage Tip from Sheen: The fuel tank of the X300 is best filled to two thirds full, and this will then run for 45 minutes continuously on full power.
Please note: This is a utilitarian product, made in an old fashioned factory and the paint finish can be rustic. We do not warrant against blemishes or marks on the paintwork - the factory make a good product that works well, but occasionally marks are present in the paint - it's been like that for 50 years and we can't change this. The Sheen X300 however is very practical and superb and doing what it is meant for - killing weeds.
