A curly leafed variety of endive. The pale green leaves have a slightly bitter taste and their frizzy texture make the perfect contrast when added to other leafy greens in a salad. The strong leaves stem from a self blanching creamy white heart. Although grown like Lettuce, it will withstand both heat and a few degrees of frost. Best if blanched a few days before harvesting and perfect with a home-made French dressing.
