Description
Wild foxgloves add colour and drama to hedgerows and woodland fringes around the country while their cultivated cousins give the same bold presence to our gardens. The 60cm tall flower spires are covered with bell shaped, bee friendly tubular flowers. Our foxglove 6-pack includes the soft orange\pink of 'Dalmatian peach', a calming cream in 'Camelot cream' and a mellow pink in 'Dottie warm rose'.
All three varieties are hybrids and are bred to flower in their first year rather than the biennial habit of the wild version. Foxgloves are ignored by slugs and snails so will give you the drama of delphiniums without the usual nocturnal losses. Please be aware that all foxgloves, including wild varieties, are poisonous if ingested.
Tip: Removing the first, main flower spire early will encourage more blooms to grow from the base.
Plant 45 cm apart in moist but well drained soil in part shade.
