Our Greenhouse & Polytunnel soil mix is a nutrient rich mix of Envirogrind and Mushroom compost, Seafeed plant fertilizer and quality Screened Topsoil to create a superbly well fed growing medium with a beautiful crumbly consistency. Our indoor growing mix contains over twice the amount of seaweed and poultry manure feed than our Supersoil mix. Ideal for growing indoor plants with high nutrient requirements (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, courgettes, etc.).
Our greenhouse and polytunnel mix is also ideal for outdoor growing where a high nutrient growing medium is required.
'Feed your plants and your plants will feed you'. The most important ingredient in your greenhouse/polytunnel is your soil.
Greenhouse/Polytunnel mix ingredients:
5% Seafeed
Seafeed is our own brand pelleted slow release plant feed. Seafeed is a mix of organic free range poultry manure which is composted with seaweed meal to provide a natural feed that will supply nutrients for up to 90 days. The addition of the seaweed meal helps to boost plant immune systems and improves soil quality. Seafeed is also available here in 4kg & 10kg containers.
40% Envirogrind Compost
Our compost mix is a very high grade compost made by composting green and fish waste in large aerated bays. The finished product is extremely well broken down with very little woody material present. Our compost is one of the very best commercially produced compost and is used as a soil conditioner and slow release plant feed.
10% Mushroom Compost
Mushroom compost is the waste compost material left over from commercial mushroom farms. Mushroom compost is a compost base from straw and organic matter with added chicken manure and gypsum. This mix which helps to balance the pH our soil mix and is great for improving soil structure, drainage and root development. It adds both NPK and calcium and sulphur.
45% Screened Topsoil
The heart of our soil mix is our screened high grade topsoil, we only use the best soils with low clay content. Our soil has also been screened to remove any large or medium sized stones.
Delivery is Kerbside delivery. We don't guarantee the bag can be left within the boundary of your property. If we can't access your driveway the bag will be left at the closest point possible.
The soil is delivered in 10 x (40 litre) bags placed on a wooden pallet. The soil can only go as close to your site as the hand operated pallet truck allows. The truck is not equipped with a grab so bags cannot be lifted over walls or hedges.
While the delivery driver will do his best to get the pallet as close as he can to your property he is unable to move the pallet over kerbs, up an incline or on loose gravel surfaces. Remember the pallet is extremely heavy and once off the truck is moved by the effort of the driver alone.
Truck Sizes – It is important to note that our Delivery trucks can be quite large. If you are expecting them to be able to get through your gate the gate will need to be at least 3.5 metres wide
Your laneway would have to have overhead coverage of minimum 5metres with no overhanging trees or cables. The trucks are 18 tonne Rigid trucks that are 12m long, 2.5m wide and 4.1m high.
