Description
Many of Ireland's bats, such as the Pipistrelle, Leisler's bat, Daubenton's bat or Natterer's bat, are increasingly struggling to find habitat as mature, hollow trees disappear from managed forests.
This general purpose bat box is a great option for newcomers to bat conservation. It is a readily accepted resting or temporary roost for a number of species.
The Woodcrete material provides excellent thermal insulation and stable internal temperatures.
The textured, spherical roof area of the interior allows bats to hang optimally. A removable front panel meanwhile allows for inspection or cleaning.
These bat boxes can serve as a great educational tool when it comes to biodiversity and wildlife conservation!
Fixing: Can be installed in a tree or on buildings, minimum height 3 to 4 metres.
Ensure that a clear horizontal approach is provided for the Bats.
To ensure optimum accommodation, the Bat Box should be cleaned once or twice a year, or the Bat droppings should be removed.
Note: Bat Box 2F can be converted into a Type 2M Bird Nest Box by replacing the front panel
