Description
Rovada is a new variety of Redcurrant. It is a very late cropper, cropping in August when most other currants are finished and, crucially, when you are back from your holidays! Yields are very heavy with large trusses of good sized fruit on a well shaped and upright bush. Red Start is highly recommended, a fantastic new variety.
Redcurrants are known for having a more tart flavor than blackcurrant yet still have the same level of sweetness. Delicious in desserts, jams and jellies as well as eaten freshly picked. Although red currants are related to black currants they have a growth habit more like gooseberries and should follow the same planting and pruning advice.
Nutritional Information:
Redcurrants are very healthy and include Vitamins C & K, Vitamins B1-3, 5 & 6, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Potassium .
