Description
A traditional French cantaloupe variety, Charentais produces small but delicious 1kg fruit. The deep orange flesh is exceptionally sweet mixed with just a touch of acid tang; this gives a refreshing flavour followed by a pleasant, soft floral aftertaste. The most popular melon in France for good reason.
The small fruits are a good choice for Ireland and the UK as they have a much better chance of ripening fully than larger melon varieties. For growing undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel.
