Wild and Free is the classic guide to wild herbs, plants and fruits with tips and advice on harvesting, drying and preserving easy to find wild foods. The book contains 100 recipes for jams, soups, desserts, syrups, liqueurs and wines all printed with related Irish folklore and original illustrations. There is also a month by month guide on what needs doing and when throughout the year.

This book was first published in 1978 and has just been republished with a new introduction by wild food and foraging blogger and author Sally McKenna. Wild food grows abundantly everywhere around us and this book is a great place to start if you are interested in edible plants and wild food recipes. Wild & Free is the perfect gardening gift.

This book deserves top marks, It is probably the most interesting thing I have read in years. It is briming with wild food tips and folklore and recipes, very nice pictures too. Well done Cyril & Kit.

This is the best book i have read in an age. If you ever needed a bit of inspiration then this is it. I can't wait for September for the blackberries, rosehips and Sloes and i have already made some great Elderflower cordial. Well done for supplying such an interesting book

Is this book the hardback or paperback version?

Important Delivery Information October 2020 - Covid 19

We will be operating our business as usual over the coming months as thankfully, current lockdown measures haven't required us to close our warehouses. Delivery times had been impacted earlier in the year with the increase in online shopping putting immense strain on couriers. We are nearly back to normal here in Quickcrop so we expect to have your order to you within 2-5 working days, and 7-10 working days for Raised Bed orders.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused due to Covid-19 and very much appreciate your patience during this time. Some of our customers had delays in receiving their orders in a timely manner but thankfully 99% of orders got through on schedule.

Unless 10 working days have elapsed since you placed your order please try to avoid contacting the office for delivery information as answering queries further slows packing. The Exception to this is our raised ponds which will take two weeks to be dispatched from our warehouse and and delivered to you. Of course if you have received a damaged item, are missing something or are over the 10 day lead time please feel free to email us at enquiry@quickcrop.ie and we will respond quickly, usually within the hour.

 

All standard Quickcrop deliveries (including all raised beds) only €3.95.

All our deliveries are only €3.95 no matter how many products we deliver anywhere in Ireland. We also deliver to the UK and other European countries, please see our delivery rates below. Our flat delivery rate is an absolute bargain and is far cheaper than any of our competitors, please take this into account when comparing product prices.

Where do we deliver to?
We deliver nationwide to the island of Ireland, the U.K., Austria, Benelux Countries, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. Please see our delivery rates below:

€3.95 - Standard rate for the Island of Ireland.

€12.95 - The United Kingdom (Highlands and Islands may incur a surcharge, please contact us on 353 1524 0884 for details)

€14.95 - Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, France, Germany, Switzerland.

How long does it take?
Stock permitting we aim to dispatch your goods within 2 working days of receiving your order. The average time taken from order to delivery is 4 - 5 days for Irish and UK orders, and up to 8 working days for other European destinations.

What If I'm not in at time of delivery?
The driver will leave a note with the depot contact number. Delivery can be arranged for the next day or a later date.

I'm ordering several items, do they all arrive at the same time?
All items dispatched at the same time will normally be delivered in one delivery. The exceptions are bulk bags of soil or compost which comes in a separate delivery using a different delivery company.

What if my parcel is damaged or I wish to return the goods I have ordered?
Contact our office on 01 524 0884 and we will arrange collection and refund or replacement of faulty or damaged goods.

If you wish to return goods for any reason other than damaged or faulty items please return the item to us at the following address and we will issue a refund minus the delivery charge. Goods must be undamaged and in their original packaging. Please take care when parceling returned goods to ensure it reaches us in good condition.
