Description
'Bokashi' is a Japanese horticultural phrase that roughly translates as ‘well fermented organic matter’. Bokashi bran is an alternative method of processing kitchen food waste before you add it to the compost pile.
When sprinkled over your kitchen waste, bokashi bran kickstarts the composting process with a mixture of necessary bacteria, fungi and yeasts. The bran also harbours billions of specially selected microbes.
In the space of a few weeks, the infused bran will convert your food and kitchen waste into homemade pre-compost. (Note: it's best to do so in the purpose-designed Bokashi bin, also available on our website).
To use: sprinkle a layer of 10/20 grams of bran each time you add food or organic matter to your bokashi bucket, and press down.
Comes in a recyclable bag.
1kg should last at least one month of kitchen composting.
