Description
The Organko 2 is a stylish kitchen composter with a 9.6 litre capacity. It can be kept close to hand on kitchen countertops, allowing you to add food scraps and unused material.
The airtight lid enables the 'Bokashi' method to take place: this is where food scraps ferment over a period of about 2 weeks, with the aid of a specially designed 'bran' which contains friendly microbes.
- Bokashi is a natural fermentation process which processes kitchen and organic waste without the unpleasant odours of rotting food.
- It is advisable to have two Organko 2 composters. This allows you to collect food waste in one container while the (sealed) fermentation process is taking place in the other
- A 1kg bag of Bokashi bran is included with the unit. This bran is enriched with useful microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, photosynthetic organisms, actinomycetes and enzymatically active mushrooms) to initiate the fermentation process.
