Build Your Own Mainframe Crop Protection System

Description

The 'Mainframe' system is a modular crop protection system that can be easily assembled, adjusted and disassembled. You pick the component parts you need using the above picker tool. Aluminium tubing is used to construct the frame, while UV-stabilised connector parts ensure the stability and durability of the structure.

Also available as component parts are the door kit (which will create an easy access point for your structure) and ground pegs.

Plant support frames, cloches, and protective coverings (such as fleece, mesh and so on) of all sizes are easily constructed using this system. You can also use the component parts to assemble a pet or chicken run.

You can easily extend or heighten the structure at a later date. Mainframe plant protection frames are rust and rot proof.

Once your mainframe structure has been assembled, you can add a cover such as bird protection netting, fleece, micromesh (for insect protection) or polythene. Sprung plastic clips are used to affix coverings to the frame, and these are very easily removed to allow you to tend to or harvest crops.

The mainframe protection system also comes recommended for constructing tall or medium-sized fruit cages, but in our opinion (unless you have a very sheltered garden) you are better going for one of our Heavy Duty Fruit Cages, either premade or also available as a DIY Parts Picker.
