Nationwide Fastrack Delivery & Assembly
Please note that the typical lead time between order and delivery/assembly of our Halls range of greenhouses is 14 days. Our hub is in Dublin so installation with long distances to travel may take slightly longer but can still be completed relatively quickly.
The 'Magnum' is our largest Halls greenhouse with a 60cm higher ridge height than the 'Popular' model but also an increase to an 8ft x 10ft footprint. The 'Magnum' also features double sliding doors for easy access and a total of 4 opening roof vents. Integrated cast iron joints give this light but sturdy aluminium structure increased frame strength.
As with all our Halls glasshouses, the 'Magnum' features the base plinth rails as standard which add further rigidity to the structure and enable it to be installed on grass, gravel or compacted soil as well as concrete or paving.
Assembly Service
The Halls 'Popular' can be supplied as a DIY kit or assembled on site by our expert installer. The build cost for this greenhouse is €425.00 which is payable to our fitter on the installation day. If you would like your new greenhouse to be installed please contact support@quickcrop.com and we will add you to the assembly schedule.
Horticultural or toughened glass?
The difference between horticultural or toughened glass is weight and how the materail handles when shattered.
Horticultural glass
Horticultural glass or greenhouse glass has traditionally been relatively low grade both in thickness and the overall quality of the panes. This does not make it a bad product because we don't necessarily need high quality glass for horticultural applications, it still provides protection and lets in plenty of light which, after all, is all we need it for. The downside from a safety point of view is that it is more brittle and shatters into shards when broken. In my opionon, horticultural glass is perfectly fine for a reasonably shetlered glasshouse in a suburban setting but should not be used in exposed areas or where young children are regularly playing.
Toughened glass
Toughened or safety glass is more costly than horticultural grade but is 10 times stronger and, when broken, shatters into very small pieces in the same manner as a car window. We would recommend that toughened glass is used in any exposed location and where safety is a concern.
