Description
The large leaved lime is similar to it's small leaved cousin in that it is a medium sized deciduous tree with a dense habit. The deep green leaved are heart shaped with felted undersides and can be up to 12cm long. The scented flowers are very attractive to honey bees and make an excellent honey making the lime an important pollinator friendly plant.
The large leaf lime is also very attractive to aphids and should not be planted in places where dripping honeydew might be a problem (e.g. over parked cars).
