Description
Our Castleton raised bed design makes for a very attractive flower or vegetable bed. The available heights make room for the deepest rooted of crops.
The wide (17.5 cm) top finishing rail also serves as a seat. It is finished at the corners with a half lapped joint rather than a mitre; this gives a very firm fixing and minimises movement in hot weather.
Construction
The structure is very strong and robust, with a 10 cm square post at each corner. There is a further 10 cm post in the centre of the 1.8 m side, which both ties the side boards together and supports the finishing rail around the top of the pond.
