    Vegtub modular raised bed

It's a very smart looking addition to the garden which I built single handedly in a few hours. True, I haven't filled it with compost (truthfully I don't have enough yet) but I'm planning to layer the base with cardboard and grass clippings, then get around to emptying my current hot bin and several others into it. I hope the sides won't bow out as it seems thinner than I'd imaged. (I was able to lift the entire package single handed and carry out to the garden). My only gripe is that I'm left with 2 teeny drilled holes on the side and a name badge proclaiming "vegtub". As I opened everything, this fell out attached to one minute screw. I never did locate the other IF it was there but it seems likely that the drilled holes could be a future point of weakness for rust. I wish they wouldn't bother doing this. I like the rubber edging that clips onto the upper rim of the bed which gives it a very finished look. I chose sage green, a pleasingly retro look in amongst artichokes. It's been christened the "hot tub" by neighbours!

    Galvanized raised bed

Now I would be what you’d describe as an experienced green fingered man. I bought one of these after very careful deliberation as I’m also shrewd with finances. The delivery was on time so logistic was no complaints. I work in an environment where I appreciate good transport timing so on that front no complaints. Now down to the meat and bones of the product. Assembly was basis enough now that said I’m a bit of a diy enthusiast so maybe the layman might need to take a few deep breaths but overall a simple assembly. So after assembly I decided on garden placement. I’ve a good size property so used my ride on mover to pull it down the property. I filled the bottom with sticks, trimmings to save on cost and aid drainage, cardboard can also be used. It was at this point it went belly up. I have a compost pile(quality stuff) that I’ve been feeding with organic material. I transported this down from the house to the bed using a vintage wheelbarrow I restored. When I filled the bed it began to bow outwards. The design could do with an extra support to aid the outward pressure created by the organic soil. Overall a good product with its flaw. NB; I sunk a metal rod I salvaged from a previous job into the soil to aid support
