Description
Schwegler's 1FF Bat Box provides crevice-like roosting conditions for all crevice-inhabiting bat species (such as the Pipistrelle bat).
A roughened, weather-resistant wooden back panel levels out temperature fluctuations in spring and autumn, ensuring thermal stability. The unique design means that the bats can use the cooler Wood-concrete material or the warmer wooden panel, depending on their individual needs.
This box has proven to be highly effective where it has been used, from gardens and forests to urban buildings and balconies. With a radial recess as well as four additonal support points, the 1FF is adaptable enough to be secured to houses, garages, tree trunks, towers or walls.
This bat box does not need to be cleaned regularly, as the open bottom allows droppings to fall out. There is also a large inspection flap provided.
Thanks to the central fixing only a nail or screw is required to fix the box securely in position; an added advantage on lightweight panel walls or in rented accommodation.
