Description
The Silver Poplar is a native of Southern Europe and parts of Asia. It is a hardy tree that can handle coastal situations with strong winds. Poplars are excellent trees for riverbanks where the extensive root system hold soil in place and helps prevent erosion.
The Silver Poplar is better suited to larger gardens. If planting poplar as a windbreak in exposed locations plant as a group so roots can knit together to provide a strong and stable mass.
