Description
The dramatic bright coral red branches of dogwood are an eye catching sight in winter. Plant is a sunny spot. This woody shrub is best planted in groups to create dramatic effect or paired with green golden stems of ‘Cornus sericea ‘Flaviramea’.
Dogwood creates a dense hedge when planted on it's own or can be incorporated into an informal hedge to add winter colour.
Cornus is a deciduous shrub; in summer it has green oval leaves and clusters of creamy white flowers that are attractive to bees and butterflies. Cut back hard in February March in year three from planting, this will re invigorate the plant encouraging it to produce bright new stems.
