Our 84 cell seedling trays featuring our cottage garden seed mix. The mixes are broadcast sown so feature a random selection; they can be used to create a wildflower bed or planted in a lawn or grassy area to create a mini wildlife meadow. The seedling tray contains 4 week old annual and perennial plants and is supplied ready to plant out in the garden.

Each 84 cell tray is suitable for planting an 8ft by 4ft area. The pack is designed to give a wild, informal look so spacing isn't that important, simply space evenly over the planting area.

The mix contains a very wide range of over 100 plants chosen from the list below:

Agrostemma githago
Calendula off Pacific
Callistephus chinensis
Centaurea cyanus
Chrysanthemum carinatum
Clarkia elegans
Coreopsis tinctoria
Cosmos bip dwarf
Delphinium consolida
Godetia Azalea
Gypsophila elegans
Impatiens basamina
Lavatera trimestris
Linaria macc
Matthiola bicornis
Nigella Persian Jewels
Salvia coccinea
Zinnia elegans

Hi Niall, I would like to plant these in a new bed where I removed a very old hedge that had taken over the plot. It's about 8'x4 so these would be perfect. Can I just plant them or would I need to plant grass seed too? Thanks for all the advice here, I'm a very new gardener and your website and tutorial are fantastic.

Hi Carol No need to plant grass and it will arrive of its own course after a while and without the grass the wildflowers will flourish Niall Quickcrop

Hi Sam. They can be planted straight away. They will flower this season with any perennial plants (approx 60%) returning to flower again next year.

Hi Sam. This product can be planted from Spring to late Summer. If planted up to mid July it will flower in year one, later plantings will flower the following year.
Asked By Bridget
on April 30th, 2020
How will I know which plants will grow upways and which will spread?
Answered by Niall
on April 30th, 2020
Hi Bridget You can just plant them all roughly 6 inches apart and the spreading ones will spread around the base of the ones that grow up tall. They flower at different times so it is fine to do it this way Niall Quickcrop
