I've grown queens for a good few years now and they really are the creme de la creme of second earlies. Superb flavour and excellent for boiling, roasting or chips. They are also very productive and store well into autumn if needs be.

Hi At what stage is it too late to sow second earlies? At this stage of the year, by the time they arrive and chit, should I buy maincrop seed potatoes? I hope to grow them in IKEA bags! Thanks

Hi Mal You can grow Second earlies all the way up to late June believe it or not. The only difference between second earlies and Maincrop potatoes is the length of time they need in the ground to grow. As the time needed for second earlies to grow is a lot shorter than maincrop they can go in a lot later. Regards Niall Quickcrop
