Garden Fleece For Frost Protection

Garden Fleece is a very light material which will insulate seedlings from temperatures down to -3 or -4 degrees. Simply lay the fleece over the plants you want to protect and anchor the edges with some large stones. The material is so light that it wont damage the growing plants but is best pulled reasonably tight to stop it flapping in the wind. Fleece allows light and water to penetrate so can also be left on top of seedlings for a few days if required. This agricultural fleece is the best garden cover to use in the cold weather and offers ideal frost protection for young vegetable plants. It can be used indoors in polytunnels or greenhouses or outdoors in the garden or allotment.

This Fleece is not UV rated and therefore is not for use in strong summer heat as it may break down. Perfect for crop protection from September to May but not advised for summer use.

Excellent value at €39.50 for 100 metres, you'll never need to buy fleece again!

Like the others it's great value for mon, and a good amount of it as well.

It is good value for such a big roll. It is not the thickest fleece but it seems strong enough. If you want to protect your plants better from frost, I guess you can just put a double layer of this fleece onto beds or around plants. I am pretty happy with the product so far.

As a veteran vegetable grower I should have been ready when the forecast of a very 'cold snap' arrived in late April. We ordered new rolls of fleece too late but luckily didn't suffer any significant damage. The fleece duly arrived as promised and we are very happy with the quality. Considering that fact, it represents great value for money. The emails notifying us of dispatch and courier tracking were very helpful. Overall an extremely pleasant 'shopping' experience. I have already recommended quickcrop to other gardeners as a result and now I'll be ready for any future frosts! ps. I am sending the Quickcrop youtube videos to my grandson abroad to help teach him about vegetable growing in my absence.

Why can this fleece not be used in the summer?
Answered by Niall

Hi Anne It can be used in the summer but as there is no UV protection built in to it the sun breaks it down so it more for keeping plants protected in Autumn, Winter and Spring. Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi,Im trying to decide best value for an allrounder fleece,I need to use some to protect against carrot fly (I have loose hoops to use with it) and a cold night protection so i can try to start everything a bit earlier as we seem to have a shortened growing season lately,i am looking at the large roll of horticultural fleece 2 by 100m thanks carrie

Hi Carrie. I think the product you suggest is the best value. 100m will last you a few years and will always be there when you need it, it is much more cost effective than buying in smaller quantities.
