Description
Suitable for most songbirds including robins, wrens, wagtails and black birds, this bird box is made from a durable material made with wood fibres and concrete. The 'open' nature of this bird box mimics natural nests design for certain bird species. The two ribs on the back ensure the box solidly hangs on walls and trees.
Developed with input from ornithologists, these boxes have optimized dimensions and suitability for many of our native wild bird species.
Installation:
For robins it is recommended to hang 1m above the ground in shrubs, trees or well vegetated areas. For other species hanging on industrial buildings is also suitable preferably out of direct sunlight and heavy rain.
Cleaning:
After young birds have fledged cleaning can commence. Alternatively wait until the first frost. Use a mild disinfectant and warm soapy water. Regular cleaning increases the chance of reuse the following season.
