Description
The Pro 900 Maturation Bin is for use alongside Ridan's Pro 400 or Pro 200 composters.
While the compost that emerges from these units will have completed the hot thermophilic stage of composting, it still needs to fully mature into a suitable growing medium. This is where the Maturation Bin comes in.
The Ridan Maturation Bin has a steel base with metal sides to keep rodents at bay. A carefully designed arrangement of ventilation slots allow access for bugs, worms and other beneficial creatures.
There is an easy-open secure lid at the top and a collection hatch at the bottom.
Having large maturation bins of around a cubic metre helps to maintain the temperature above ambient. The maturation process should take at least 3 months, but the longer you can leave it the better.

Maturation boxes are usually used in two’s or three’s: this way one can be maturing whilst the other is being filled and so on.
3 X Maturation Bins are recommended for use with the Pro 400, while
2 X Maturation Bins are recommended for use with the Pro 200.
