Excellent product. The wood was better than i was expecting and it was super easy to put together. I suppose the only issue was delivery as the courier was a bit of a pig

The products were brilliant the only thing wrong was not enough screws to put the products together .

Very easy to put together, looks good...just waiting for the rain to stop to get a chance to fill it.

These raised beds are easy to make and definately the right price. I can well believe the 6-8 yrs of growing life as I've had 2 of these classics beds for about 2.5 yrs and they are still in perfect nick. Got another one this summer and have my garlic in it now. Delivery was quick, had it the evening after I placed my order.

The timber is more roughly sawn than appears in the pictures at time of this review, but it's a solid piece of kit at a great price.

Very good service. there were two pieces of wood that was not perfect, so the seller provided two extra ones.

This raised bed is top quality, very solid when screwed together. The classic 9 bed was very easy to assemble and not too heavy to move into place when done. I would definitely recommend these beds especially for that price.

Just installed several of these 6x4 beds on my allotment. They look fantastic and everyone is asking me where I got them.....of course I recommended Quickcrop in a flash. Fellow allotmenteers are impressed with their quality, finishing and the soil-friendly preservative. I can't wait to get things growing in mine.

Was relatively easy to assemble and so far is serving its purpose well. I was impressed with Quickcrop's willingness to adapt the size to fit vegtrug covers, that worked out well. Custom covers to fit the original sized beds would be a good idea though.

These beds are easy to put together, with unwarpped boards and enough screws. I've had mine for a year. They need some attention to the screws on some of the corners simply because of the stress of weathering. The boards are in great shape. The soil in my back garden is not a joy to work with so raised beds are essential. These are a simple, no-fuss solution for a renter. When we leave we'll either leave the beds as is, or pull them up and spread out the dirt.

Hi, I want to put the raised bed in the part of the garden that has a patio (slabs of stone) as it's in the sunnier part of my garden. I want to grow fruit and vege. I do not really want to dig up grass as I want to maintain an area for my children to play in. Do I need to have a bottom piece of wood or what size raised beds should I order? Thank you. Sophia
Answered by Niall
on April 22nd, 2020
Hi Sophia It is fine to put them on a patio however you would need to use a liner to allow the water go through but not allow the soil travel with it avoiding nasty streaks on your patio. The best depth is 14 inches as in this sized bed you can grow any crop you want Niall Quickcrop

Hi, is this timber treatment the same as that used for the premier and other beds and therefore certified for growing crops organically?
Answered by Niall
on January 24th, 2020
Hi Bev It is indeed. All our wood for any of the wooden products we sell is treated and certified for growing your own food with Niall Quickcrop

on March 12th, 2019
what is the timber treated with? do they need lining because of the timber treatment?
Answered by Niall
on March 13th, 2019
Hi Justine The timber is treated with a substance called Tanalith E which is certified as fine to use on wood when growing food so there is no liner required. The liner does help increase the length of time the wood will last. Niall Quickcrop
Asked By David McGill
on February 01st, 2019
Is the timber treated ?
Answered by Niall
on February 01st, 2019
Hi David Yes it is treated which means that the Allotment boards will last between 6/8 years and the Premier boards between 10/12 years or longer Niall Quickcrop

What kind of mix between Compost and soil will i need for my Raised beds
Answered by Andrew
on April 16th, 2018
Hi Jim. We sell a compost soil mix which will be ideal, it is about 40 compost and 60 good loam soil. I would also mix in a good slow release fertilizer like out Seafeed manure and seaweed feed to boost fertility for demanding plants. I hope this helps. Andrew

Hi , when i set up my raised beds do I have to dig out the grass
Answered by Niall
on April 02nd, 2018
Hi Jim With a 9 inch bed it is better to just turn the sod upside down inside the bed. With a 14 inch bed or above you don't need to do that as nothing will grow up through that depth of soil Regards Niall Quickcrop

What is ideal soil preparation for growing vegetables carrotts parnisps in a raised bed 9" high.
Answered by Andrew
on July 11th, 2016
Hi Sylvester. Thank you for your question. For most vegetables the correct mix is 60% of a good loamy topsoil with 10% horticultural sand and 30% of a good compost high in nutrients. For Carrots and Parsnips the more sandy the soil the better so maybe 15/20% sand mix would be better and less compost

Thank you for your question Terry. No the beds are not pre-drilled but they come with instructions and screws and with an electric screw driver you can put a bed together in 5 minutes.
