Distributed from late October to late February annually

Griselinia littoralis is a quick-growing, evergreen shrub with fresh apple-green leaves.  Its growth rate is average at approx. 20-40cm p.a. and it is easy to trim so it's a great low maintenance evergreen hedging plant. Griselinia prefers well-drained soil and is one of the most suitable species for seaside gardens. Also known as New Zealand Privet or New Zealand Broadleaf.

Our Plants - We run a relatively small, independent nursery so our bare root plants are lifted to order rather than lifted and stored. Plants which are lifted to order are quicker to establish in Spring as their root systems spend less time out of the ground. Our plants are also grown in an exposed North West location and have had to deal with all nature can throw at them. They are supplied as tough, top quality bare root plants that will thrive on any site.

Premium Spec
Premium plants are grown from seedling stock planted in a field situation at approx 6 inches apart to allow more room for root development. Plants are pre pruned to 15cm to create a multi-stemmed plant. Premium plants are also 'undercut' which involves pruning the roots 15cm below ground, this produces a larger root ball which is much quicker to establish. Premium hedging is more suitable for garden applications where a thick hedge is needed quickly.

Hi Lonut Essentially you need to plant one plant every metre so going on your estimates you need about 65 however you can plant them closer together which will give you a tighter and faster growing hedge Niall Quickcrop

How many packs would I need to cover 60 meters Thanks
Answered by Niall

Hi Alison We suggest planting either 2ft or 3ft apart depending on how quickly you want your hedge to thicken up so 3 packs would probably be ideal but you would get away with 2 Niall Quickcrop

The size 50-70cm, does this include the root? Or are the plants this high from soil level? Kind regards, Steven Mitchell

Hi Steven From soil level provided you plant them up to where the root finishes and not to deep in to the soil Niall Quickcrop

Hi how far apart do you plant, say 2 ft 6 inches for a taller hedge? Thanks in advance, Jason.
Answered by Niall
on September 24th, 2019
Hi Jason The best rule of thumb when planting hedging is the 3 to 1 rule. If you want the hedge to get to 3m tall then plant the hedging 1m apart. If you want it to get to 4m high then plant 1.3m apart and so on I hope this helps Niall Quickcrop
