Description
Green Privet makes a tough and resilient evergreen hedge plant that can grow to 4 metres if left to its own devices and it does it super efficiently. It grows quickly, clips neatly and manages to flourish even in poor, compacted soil or when in the shade. It seems to be oblivious to pollution and so is perfectly happy next to a busy road, occluding light and noise from the road at the same time. As a result, it is THE most valuable hedge for that tricky combination of an urban area and poor soil.
Our Plants - We run a relatively small, independent nursery so our bare root plants are lifted to order rather than lifted and stored. Plants which are lifted to order are quicker to establish in Spring as their root systems spend less time out of the ground. Our plants are also grown in an exposed North West location and have had to deal with all nature can throw at them. They are supplied as tough, top quality bare root plants that will thrive on any site
Premium Spec
Premium plants are grown from seedling stock planted in a field situation at approx 6 inches apart to allow more room for root development. Plants are pre pruned to 15cm to create a multi-stemmed plant. Premium plants are also 'undercut' which involves pruning the roots 15cm below ground, this produces a larger root ball which is much quicker to establish. Premium hedging is more suitable for garden applications where a thick hedge is needed quickly.
