Seems a good product for this price. There were no instructions included and although I bought 4 raised bed kits there were only 3 bags of screws included so we had to supply some of our own. However, despite the lack of instructions they were easy to put together and look very good now we've got them in place in the garden.

Assembled following the instructions on the website. However no screws were included in the delivery so had to use my own. Hopefully used to right size.

This is a great product... easy to assemble... sturdy wood and screws and a great price too
April 23rd, 2018
Yes, its the lower priced raised bed option and wood not so dense therefore probably not the durability of the more expensive raised bed choices. This is all clearly explained on the web site, so we make our choices. This is just perfect for the job I have for it, potato planter. Again, enough screws supplied. I'm very happy with this.

Raised bed arrived today, and was easy to assemble with an electric screwdriver. It's nothing fancy but is good value for money and just what we were looking for.

Are they strong enough for two beds be placed on top of each other to increase depth?

Hi Stephen Absolutely. However we also sell 14 inch deep beds which is essentially what you are talking about but supplied with 14 inch posts making them stay together better Niall Quickcrop

Hi Todd In our raised bed builder in the same Allotment section you can buy the boards separately and you can buy additional boards to make a base Niall Quickcrop

If I’m placing these raised beds onto soil can I grow root vegetables like potatoes and carrots? (I’m assuming the raised beds are bottomless?)
Answered by Niall

Hi Julia You can of course grow root crops using this bed once the soil that you are putting the beds on to is well prepared. And yes they are bottomless Niall Quickcrop

on June 24th, 2020
We are looking to plant cucumbers and pumpkins (in seed pots at the moment) would these raised beds suit? Looking for the cheapest option, thanks.
Answered by Andrew
on June 25th, 2020
Hi Avril. These beds will be fine provided they are going on good quality soil, if not I would go for a taller 14inch high bed. Also, both cucumbers and pumpkins need a lot of feed to make sure you mix in plenty of seaweed and poultry manure pellets when planting out (they are the handiest). Cucumbers will not survive outside so am presuming you have a glasshouse or polytunnel?
Asked By Tina Ward
on April 19th, 2020
Can this raised bed be used for root vegetables like carrots and potatoes?
Answered by Niall
on April 19th, 2020
Hi Tina No. You would need a bed at least 10 inches of above to grow root veg Niall Quickcrop

Is the timber fsc certified?
Answered by Niall

Hi Laura Yes it is. We should probably state that more clearly on our beds Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Brendan
on July 24th, 2019
Are the planks safe to use for growing food to eat, seeing as how they're treated (presumably with some chemical)?
Answered by Niall
on July 24th, 2019
Hi Brendan They certainly are. That is one of the reasons why people buy our raised beds over using Sleepers or scaffold boards etc. The treatment that is used for them is certified as perfectly fine to use when growing food Regards Niall Quickcrop

Please advise if the 7" high Timber Planters are treated with non-toxic preservatives.
Answered by Niall
on November 12th, 2018
Hi Anne The treatment used for the beds is a product called Tanalith E. This is certified by the soil association as fine to use when growing your own food. This is not to be confused with the earlier versions of this product Tanalith which was toxic. Regards Niall Quickcrop

Do you need to line the inside of the raised beds with plastic material?
Answered by Andrew

You can line it with some landscaping material but you don't have to. The timber is treated and will last years of growing as it is.
