We planted these last year in the polytunnel and they were great. Will do so again this year. Lovely long beans with great flavour and freeze well (essential unless you farm them out to friends and neighbours).

The crunchiness of these beans in a stirfry makes the wait so worth it.

Hi Peter I am afraid this sounds like downy mildew to me. There is very little you can do about it. It happens in damp cold conditions which we have been having recently. It is very important to practice crop rotation to stop this happening in the future Niall Quickcrop

I plan to grow these on bamboo wigwams, 5 canes in each wigwam. So does that mean I need approx. 25 seeds for each wigwam?

Thank you for your question John. Your maths seems correct. 25 seeds per Wigwam.
