Can't say much about the beetroot as still waiting for the seed to germinate. I seem to have a bit of a problem with beetroot!!!

Beetroot Pablo F1 is my number 1 vegetable. I have a supply all year round, starting with sowing in glasshouse, then outdoors and finishing back inside. It stores very well over winter in peat. I am still grating for salads. It does not run to seed and does not become hard and course. Skerries Hilltop

How do I know when to harvest?

Hi Sinead Once the Beetroot (which grow above ground) are the size you want them you can just pull them up. They are normally at their best when they are just slightly larger than a golf ball but if you were using them for juicing instead of eating you can let them get a lot bigger Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi, I received my Pablo seeds, but there seems to be a silvery coating on them?..could you please inform me as to what this coating is please?

Hi Rachel. The coating on the pablo seeds is an inert powder added to make the seeds easier to see when sowing, it is not a chemical additive. I hope this answers your question. Andrew
