In a nutshell....

Victoria is a bolt resistant variety of celery that produces strong upright stalks. 50 seeds per packet.

Victoria is a bolt resistant early maturing variety of celery that produces strong upright stalks. They have an attractive green colour which turns to white towards the base, and a crisp, clean and juicy flavour. This celery is a hybrid variety and is easier to grow than other varieties, if you have had trouble growing celery in the past then this is the one to go for. This reliable variety is also self blanching.

50 Seeds per pack

Sowing & Spacing:

Sow from late March up until early may by sprinkling the seeds onto a small pot full of good quality seed compost and then propagate. 3 or 4 weeks later the seedlings will be ready to prick out. Transfer to a modular tray sowing one seedling per module. Plant out 8 weeks after sowing.

Space plants approximately 27cm apart, with the same distance between rows.

Seeds per pack: 50

Good seed packets with plenty of info on them. I use quickcrop seeds because I have had most success with them over the years. They are very good seeds.

This was a great grower for me last season and the fact that it was self blanching mean't that I could put it from plot to pot in a few minutes. Tastes great in salads and has a nice smokey bitter type of flavour to it. Easy to grow and had very little trouble with it compared to other plants this year.

A little tasteless in my opinion, this celery was however easy to grow and I had a large amount of useable stalks. However its taste was a little too mild compared to the varieties that I had grown in the past.

Hi Richard Celery is a very slow germinator however it is also tricky and needs to be sown with no compost put on top at all. Niall Quickcrop
