99.5% "germination", all plants look healthy and vigorous. My first time to try late sown "early" potatoes.

Great to find a place that sells potato seed late in the growing season. Arrived on time. Well packaged. Seed was good and firm. Sowed in late June 2018. Very dry summer, so a lot of watering needed. I suspect from checking, that I will have about 80-90% germination and 10-20% fail/rot.

I love this variety. They're great as a salad potato and are delicious either hot or cold.. A good staple potato for the summer. I especially like them hot with butter and a sprinkling of herbs or chives.

FANTASTIC second early potato. I plant this one out each year in the middle of March in a 50 foot raised bed and i am rewarded throughout the summer and Autumn with fresh great tasting potatoes that are not devoured by the slugs. Most other varieties i have planted out suffer a lot of slug damage. So for me Charlotte are a winner and I strongly recommend them. Going to try some 'Orla' and 'Casablanca' this year.Fingers crossed

Would it be ok to plant Charlotte potatoes along with first earlies in march? Or what month would be best to plant them?
Answered by Niall

Hi Darren Absolutely. They can go in at the same time as the first earlies. They will just be ready a few weeks later when it comes to harvest. That is the only difference Niall Quickcrop

Can I plant potatoes now in Oct.for winter?
Answered by Niall
on September 30th, 2020
Hi Moyra Only if you have a tunnel or glasshouse and even then it is a lot of work covering and uncovering them over winter to stop the leaves getting frosted. You are better to wait until mid February and you can plant outdoors then Niall Quickcrop

Hi Brian I am afraid we are not able to offer them in the 5 tuber packs this season. Sorry if they are in the text. The smallest we have in the UK this season coming will be the 1kg packs Niall Quickcrop

Is there any seed potatoe that I can grow now for Christmas circa 100 days to harvest? I planted Charlotte 4-5 weeks ago but they got blight. Had great crop of Orlas through July and August that grew perfect with little or no help. Will be growing in bags in green house. Thanks, Sara

Hi Sara. I am afraid it is to late to put in Christmas potatoes. They would need to be put in the ground by mid August.
